RECOVERY OF FORMER CONVENT OF SANTA CHIARA ALGHERO

The contract relates to the recovery of the former hospital building complex marine and former convent of Santa Chiara in Alghero. The construction of the complex of Santa Chiara began in 1641 with the founding of the church of the same name, near the ancient church of S. Cross. In 1741 they built the dormitory of the nuns, bordered to the east with the whole side of the church. In 1726, following a fall, the church was rebuilt and enlarged the monastery: presumably these original structures remain unchanged until today. In 1912 he built the New Mercy Hospital prospettante Magellan on the ramparts, flanked to the ancient monastery and connected it via an internal staircase. Currently the whole complex has a significant physical and structural degradation. Work commissioned by the city of Alghero in society COEDIL SUD are being run.
