WORK OF CONSOLIDATION AND RESTORATION OF A BUILDING FRESI PALAU

The restoration of the municipal building named Palazzo Fresi were commissioned by the company COEDIL SUD town of Palau in 2001. The major renovation of Builbing Fresi were: - The outside with the recent demolition of accretions on the court, interventions aimed at enhancing the facades, with the restoration of the plaster, with the careful restoration of the finishing details (cornices, string courses), balconies, frames, with the arrangement by integration of the roof tiles. II using all local materials and traditional construction techniques; with the demolition of the interior floors of recent times (the seventies) in very poor condition and replacement with stained concrete floors. This is the type of floor that was supposedly in place in the twenties and that he felt obliged to reinstate the premises at all. There were also the remake of degrees and sottogradi granite stairs, the consolidation of plaster, restoration or reconstruction of fixtures where missing with the same characteristics of those survivors. Moreover, this effort also included the realization of a room on the outside and the realization of a ramp walkway to allow access to the incapacitated. All implants were made to avoid as much as possible to interfere with the existing walls and damaging the original.
